Cheesecake Factory: Every Cheesecake Ranked From Worst To Best

Everyone knows and loves the Cheesecake Factory. If we're a big fan of this creamy and sweet dessert, then we can probably all agree that this is the place to go to get a slice.

The restaurant has a super sweet origin story: a woman named Evelyn Overton started making cheesecakes at home while taking care of her kids. She and her husband, Oscar, started The Cheesecake Factory Bakery in L.A. in 1972 and their son, David, decided that a restaurant needed to happen. In 1978, the very first one was open in Beverly Hills, and now there are over 200 restaurants worldwide.

If we've eaten here before, then we probably have our favorite, aka the one cheesecake that we absolutely have to order or else. We might have grown up going to this restaurant with our family, whether for an everyday dinner or a special occasion. There are so many to choose from those of us who are a bit indecisive might have a tough time picking just one. Of course, there's no such thing as too many cheesecakes, so ordering a few is always a good idea.

We've gone ahead and ranked 30 of these dairy-laden sweet treats at the Cheesecake Factory. Here they are, from worst to best.

30 Mango Key Lime Cheesecake

via thecheesecakefactory.com

Number 30 on our list would have to be the Mango Key Lime Cheesecake. We might be okay with a mango-flavored treat or a lime-flavored one, but something about the combination doesn't really appeal to us.

For people who are into fruit cheesecakes, this could be a winner. The rest of us would rather have another flavor in our cheesecake and think that we'll give this one a miss the next time that we're contemplating which cheesecake to order at the restaurant.

29 Low Carb Cheesecake

via livestrong.com

Did we know that there are low carb options at the Cheesecake Factory? There are two of them, in fact, and they took the number 29 and 28 spots on our list.

According to Wilder Shaw, who wrote about the various cheesecakes available at this restaurant for Thrillist, the Low Carb Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory isn't the greatest. Why? Mostly because it's made with Splenda. Sure, this cheesecake does have your typical graham cracker crust, but you might not like the taste of Splenda or something made with it. No one could blame you for that... or for ordering something else.

28 Low Carb Cheesecake With Strawberries

via thecheesecakefactory.com

If we're not big on the Low Carb Cheesecake, then chances are, we're not really into trying out the Low Carb Cheesecake with Strawberries. This one gets one spot higher on the list, though, because we love strawberries and are always happy to order a dessert that includes them.

We totally get watching what you eat and wanting to be healthier. And eating low carb is definitely a big trend right now. But you might want to go for something else on the menu since there are so many cheesecakes to choose from and there are flavors that seem much more exciting.

27 Lemon Meringue Cheesecake

via tripadvisor.com

The Lemon Meringue Cheesecake tastes just like the classic dessert. The cheesecake part tastes like lemon and it's got meringue and lemon mousse on top.

There are some hybrid desserts that are really cool, like a brownie pumpkin pie, or a pecan cranberry pie (okay, so we have holiday desserts on the brain right now...) but we might not be looking for a cheesecake that tastes like a lemon meringue pie. It's okay to keep the two desserts separate, right? We still love lemon meringue pie and we still love cheesecake. We just might not want to eat them together.

26 Lemon Raspberry Cream Cheesecake

via seriouseats.com

There's nothing wrong with putting raspberries in dessert. Raspberries and chocolate can taste amazing together and they make for quite a sophisticated and romantic dessert.

Our issue with a Lemon Raspberry Cream Cheesecake is that if we want fruit with our cheesecake, we're going to have to argue for strawberries. That's a classic flavor combination that truly works. Maybe we'll agree with blueberries. It seems like lemon and raspberry are too sour and strong for a cheesecake. We might not be big on putting those two flavors together.

25 Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake

via Twitter

As Shaw wrote for Thrillist, this Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory is "extra mushy." That's enough for us to perhaps order another flavor.

Banana seems like a tricky flavor to incorporate into a cheesecake, doesn't it? Banana cream pie is a popular dessert that has many fans, but we might not really want to combine cheese flavors with banana. It just doesn't seem like the most delicious idea. We'll take banana and chocolate, though. Those two are great together.

24 Chocolate Tuxedo Cream Cheesecake

via flickr.com

Chocolate will always be ranked super high in terms of favorite desserts, and we wouldn't complain about being served a slice of this Chocolate Tuxedo Cream Cheesecake.

We've heard some things about how this might not be the best of the cheesecakes, though. According to Sweety High, "we ranked this cake lower on our list because the 'crust' is actually made up of chocolate fudge cake. Sure, we'd order that in a heartbeat, but when it comes to cheesecake, we like a more classic crust rather than cake layer." We have to agree with them on that one.

23 Tiramisu Cheesecake

via cheesecakefactory.com

People who love tiramisu will love it and people who don't enjoy eating that dessert might not be that big on it. It's totally a matter of personal preference, and we know that nothing divides people like dessert (or food in general). We all have our opinions.

If we love this, then we really love it, and we enjoy the hybrid dessert. Or maybe we're purists and would rather have a plain cheesecake and then a plain tiramisu at another time. Totally fair.

22 Coffee And Cream Chocolate Supreme

via twitter.com

Hey, we're not going to complain about someone who decided to add coffee into any kind of baked good. We love coffee and love it any which way. So if we're big on this caffeinated beverage, then we'll be thrilled that there is a Coffee and Cream Chocolate Supreme at the Cheesecake Factory.

Coffee and chocolate are always going to be a flavor duo that works really well together. And if that's how we feel, then we'll love this cheesecake which involves those two ingredients, plus a mousse made out of chocolate mascarpone. Perhaps the best part? This cheesecake is made with cold brew. So hipster and awesome, but it also has the potential for being divisive, and it also seems like there's just a lot going on here.

21 Celebration Cheesecake

via freakinfoodie.com

Celebration Cheesecake is cheesecake with vanilla cake plus three kinds of mousse (chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla). It's topped with cream cheese frosting. It totally looks like a flavor party so we definitely get the whole "celebration theme."

While it sounds and looks great, some people might not want the vanilla cake in there. When Sweety High reviewed the Celebration Cheesecake, they said it's really good but it's like a cheesecake plus a regular cake, and the whole is not worth more than the sum of its parts.

20 Cinnabon Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake

via cheesecakefactory.com

Cinnamon is always a great flavor in any baked good. We won't complain if served something with this ingredient, that's for sure. And we get that this cheesecake is supposed to taste like a cinnamon roll (more specifically, like a Cinnabon). It has a vanilla crunch cake, plus Cinnabon Cinnamon Cheesecake, and is topped with caramel and cream cheese icing.

This is definitely an appealing type of cheesecake, but we might not be as interested in it as some of the other flavors. Some of us might like it and others might want a cinnamon roll (or Cinnabon) instead.

19 Vanilla Bean Cheesecake

via twitter.com

Vanilla or chocolate? It's a question that dessert fans often have to ponder. Growing up, you're asked this a lot, like everything in your life depends on whether you love vanilla or chocolate more. Well, your dessert choices do depend on your preferences, so it's definitely important.

For vanilla fans, there will be nothing better than a slice of this. It's got a yummy vanilla bean cheesecake, plus whipped cream and vanilla mousse. But it's just a bit, well, vanilla. It's the Taylor Swift of cheesecakes - make of that what you will.

18 Hershey's Chocolate Bar Cheesecake

via flickr.com

A Hershey's Chocolate flavored cheesecake, chocolate cake, and chocolate chips with chocolate icing. Is this enough chocolate for us chocolate lovers?!

Look, chocolate is obviously great. We all enjoy eating it. So there's nothing wrong with a chocolate cheesecake. But some of us might not think that this is one of the best cheesecakes because we might expect a chocolate cheesecake and might want something a bit different. We wouldn't mind ordering it, but maybe we'll try it along with a new flavor that we haven't before. It's really more of a chocolate cake first, and a cheese cake second, and that's just not what we're about on this list.

17 Key Lime Cheesecake

via cheesecakefactory.com

We feel the same way about the Key Lime Cheesecake as we do about the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake: we would rather stick to those individual desserts instead of eating a combination.

If we're not big on a lemon-flavored cheesecake because we think that it's too tangy or sour, then we would probably feel the same way about a lime-flavored cheesecake. Sorry but we might want some chocolate (or caramel... or both) cheesecake instead. With so many flavors of cheesecake to choose from at this popular restaurant, we might go for something else.

16 Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake

via tripadvisor.com

Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake is a good idea. Basically, we love caramel on anything. And we love Turtles. That candy is awesome.

We're going to be fans of any cheesecake (or any dessert, really) that involves some candy or chocolate, and we're interested in this cheesecake for that reason. It has cheesecake with a fudge and caramel swirl, plus pecan brownie, plus chocolate and turtles on top. No complaints here, only lots of smiles and, okay, some drooling.

15 Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake

via pinterest.com

Flourless chocolate cake is delicious and sophisticated. Add in some amazing Godiva chocolate and we know that it's going to be even more epic.

The Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake is made up of three very important chocolatey parts: flourless Godiva chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and Godiva chocolate cheesecake.

Yup, this whole thing sounds magical, and we'll be up for ordering it anytime. Maybe every day. We don't think that sounds like too much chocolate at all. Maybe we'll order two (or three). Still, there is better yet to come.

14 Toasted Marshmallow S'mores Galore

via cheesecakefactory.com

You just can't go wrong with a dessert that has s'mores in it. We think that this cheesecake deserves a spot on the list of the best cheesecakes from the popular restaurant.

It has a lot going for it and let's chat about the toppings first. Those would be graham crackers and toasted homemade marshmallow. That would be enough for us and we would totally eat a whole pile of that combination... but then we get to the cheesecake: it's a chocolate cheesecake (Hershey's, to be exact) and it has chocolate ganache on top. It's perfection for chocolate fans, but runs a bit on the sickly sweet side for our personal taste.

13 Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake

via popsugar.com

Now this is a cheesecake flavor that is truly dreamy. We love pumpkin pie, we love pecan pie, and we would love a pumpkin-flavored cheesecake or a pecan pie-flavored cheesecake. Therefore, we think it's pretty brilliant to combine these, and we're happy about it.

The Cheesecake Factory starts offering this flavor in September, and it's definitely a seasonal thing, so we should run if we want to give it a try (which of course we do). Just look at the way that all the layers meet each other in this photo. Amazing. The seasonality of this one makes it a sure winner, but we're just unsure if we'd want to eat it year-round. For that reason, it must sit comfortably in the middle of the list.

12 Peppermint Bark Cheesecake

via tripadvisor.com

We'll be feeling all the Christmas vibes if we order a slice of this Peppermint Bark Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. When we want to get into the spirit, we think that this dessert would be a great way to do that.

The restaurant says that you can get it after Thanksgiving and into the winter holidays. They describe it as, "White chocolate cheesecake swirled with chunks of chocolate peppermint bark, topped with white chocolate mousse and finished with chopped peppermint." For the same reasons as above, as much as we love this one, we really only love it for a few months a year. We're looking for more staying power from our top cakes.

11 Craig's Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake

via pinterest.com

This carrot cake-flavored cheesecake is climbing up the list because carrot cake is such a popular dessert. We're pretty sure that even if we don't love it that much and aren't that thrilled about this cheesecake flavor, there are tons and tons of people who are jumping for joy that it exists.

Craig's Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake sounds awesome: it's literally a mixture of carrot cake and cheesecake, topped with roasted almonds and cream cheese icing. It sounds like the best combination of sweet and creamy.

10 Ultimate Red Velvet

via twitter.com

Business Insider includes this on their list of delicious cheesecakes from this famous restaurant, so since people like it, we had to include it on our list, too.

Many people love red velvet cake, so it seems like a popular choice. It's pretty cool to blend red velvet cake with cheesecake. Unlike some of the other cake/cheesecake combos lower down on the list, the Ultimate Red Velvet has enough classic cheesecake to keep purists happy, and the red velvet cake portion is moist, fluffy and light enough that it doesn't detract from the real star of the show: the cream cheese frosting.

9 Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple Cheesecake

via yelp.com

What a name. It just sounds delicious. That's really what we have to say about this.

We love all of the things that are going on here. This is a cheesecake with peanut butter, Butterfingers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and caramel. Oh yes. There are two types of candy in this cheesecake. This is totally the kind of treat that we want to order when we're celebrating a birthday... or whenever, really.

8 Chris' Outrageous Cheesecake

This cheesecake has a pretty epic name, so we can imagine that it's really good. And it sounds like it is: Business Insider says, "Chocolate cake + fudgy brownie + chocolate chip coconut cheesecake + coconut pecan frosting = world peace. Chris deserves a Nobel prize for this one."

From even just glancing at the photo, we can say that it's amazing. We love the idea of a cheesecake/chocolate cake/brownie hybrid. We'd like to shake the hand of this Chris character... Adam can come too...

7 Salted Caramel Cheesecake

via cheesecakefactory.com

According to the Cheesecake Factory's description of this dessert online, it's "Caramel Cheesecake and Creamy Caramel Mousse on a Blonde Brownie all topped with Salted Caramel."

Sounds good to us. More than that, it sounds absolutely incredible, and the addition of the blonde brownie takes it to another level. Salted caramel has become a real trend in the foodie world and it makes sense to us: it's just plain delicious. Where it loses (very minor) points is in the Blondie Brownie base - while delicious, it gets a little rich, and we do miss our classic Graham cracker crust when it's not there.

6 Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake

via youtube.com

Oreo anything is amazing. Many people grew up enjoying the classic cookies and wishing that they could be used in many different desserts. Our dreams and wishes came true because now we can get Oreo-flavored ice cream and even Oreo-flavored cheesecake.

The restaurant describes this as, "Oreo Cookies baked in our creamy Cheesecake with layers of fudge cake and Oreo Cookie mousse. Topped with a milk chocolate icing." Yup. This is definitely one of the best cheesecakes that you can get at the Cheesecake Factory - but - we could do without the chocolate icing, it just seems superfluous.

5 Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake

via youtube.com

We mean... just look at that photo. Are we not drooling or what?!

If it's a good idea to put Oreos into a cheesecake, then it's an even better idea to put Reese's Peanut Butter cups into it. That's right, this popular and beloved chocolate is literally inside the cheesecake: as the restaurant website puts it, "Chunks of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in our Original Cheesecake with Layers of Delicious Fudge Cake and Caramel."

We love chocolate, we love peanut butter, and we love caramel. And we love cheesecake, of course. It's a match made in heaven for us, but we'd feel guilty giving the top spot to an allergen-heavy choice like this. The top cheesecake must be for the everyman.

4 The Original

via cheesecakefactory.com

What can we say about the Original cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory besides the fact that it's beloved for a reason?

If people love cheesecake, then they're going to love this classic version. It has a graham cracker crust and is topped with sour cream. These are traditional elements of a cheesecake, and when you want the original, you want the Original cheesecake. It's a commonly known fact amongst chefs from Italy that you're only as good as your simplest Margherita pizza is - sometimes less is more, and you have to master the classics before getting creative. The same logic applies to cheesecake (and just about anything). This one is for the purists, and it doesn't disappoint. Still, it feels like there's something missing...

3 Snickers Bar Chunks and Cheesecake

Serious Eats says that this cheesecake does taste like a Snickers bar, which might be something that we were wondering if we haven't ever had this cheesecake.

Snickers bars are one of the greatest chocolate bars since they have so many good things going for them, from nuts to chocolate to caramel, and it's cool to think that these flavors would be added to an already delicious cheesecake. Along with whipped cream, this slice is served with peanuts and caramel. Yum.

2 Pumpkin Cheesecake

via delish.com

The Pumpkin Cheesecake is sold at the restaurant starting in September, and since we know that we love pumpkin and we really love pumpkin desserts, it had to take the number two spot.

Maybe we're basic (yes, we are... it's fine) but we love pumpkin cheesecake. It's sweet and tangy and just perfect. Many people say goodbye to a traditional pumpkin pie for their Thanksgiving celebrations and make pumpkin cheesecake instead, so we think that this is a type of cheesecake that we can get behind and celebrate. It's festive and delicious, but it doesn't take the top spot.

1 Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake

via yelp.com

And here we are: the Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake takes the number one spot on our list.

Why? Because people really love this cheesecake. If we think about it, it's easy to see why: it has everything that people want in this dessert. It's got the classic cheesecake flavor to satisfy the purists, it's got strawberries on top (with a delicious glaze), and it's got a graham cracker crust. As the Cheesecake Factory says, "Our Most Popular Flavor for Over 35 Years!" We can definitely understand why.
