Krispy Kreme is making headlines with its newest donut, inspired by none other than the infamous Ugly Christmas Sweater.
Every single year, people try to outdo themselves by wearing some of the most outrageous Christmas Sweaters during the Holiday season, featuring a myriad of the many Christmas characters we’ve grown to love like Rudolph, or even the Grinch … or maybe even a blend of colorful designs and yes, even protruding fabrics to go along which can only add that extra layer of preposterousness.
But amidst all the raucous festivities this Holiday season at either your respective office parties or even at home, we beg you to remember that older generations simply call these peculiar items of clothing “sweaters.” Just a friendly reminder.
So… this particular Holiday season, when in line at your local Krispy Kreme and making those all-too-important donut picking choices, you’ll have a plethora of new options to choose from in the form of what Krispy Kreme is calling the Ugly Sweater Donut. And believe us, the new donuts definitely look like they sound. They are adorned with the particular designs using frosting that will remind anyone of the ugly Holiday fashions most are accustomed to seeing.
It’s been reported by thrillist.com that common designs Krispy Kreme features during the Holidays may contain Santa’s belt buckle (known as Santa’s Belly), adorable penguins, sprinkles featuring the classic Christmas colors (green, white and red) among other toppings that’ll get you in the Holiday spirit in no time, but the Ugly Sweater donut will be featured for the first time this year to join all other aforementioned Christmas designs, and there’s no item more anticipated than this one. So look for it next time you saunter into a Krispy Kreme.
And when you show up to the next Ugly Sweater get-together this Christmas Season, don’t forget to pass by your local Krispy Kreme donut shop and pick up a few dozen donuts to match that sweater you're wearing. But remember if Gramps happens to compliment you on your sweater and asks for a doughnut, just refer to them as “Festive donuts” and leave the “Ugly Sweater” out of the whole thing.
So the only question that remains is will they taste good? After all, it all comes down to the almighty taste test, doesn’t it?
Well, according to Krispy’s past Holiday donuts and the buzz they’ve garnered, we feel it’s safe to assume that these will also be quite tasty, but hey… judge for yourselves dear readers and let us know.
