McDonald's has teamed up with J-pop group NGT48 to bring some of its Japanese patrons a massive 48 piece chicken McNugget bucket.
When it comes to fast-food, there isn't necessarily one particular industry leader. There are different restaurants that focus on different things and that's what they're known for. KFC specializes in chicken and we are not going there for the fries, at least we weren't before the recent changes. Burger King has set itself apart from other sandwich rivals by flame-grilling all of its beef.
If we were forced to select one undisputed king of everything when it comes to fast-food, it would have to be McDonald's. While some of Ronald's rivals may do things better, there is no better all-rounder in the biz than Maccy D's. It has been around for more than half a century and has outlets all over the world.
All us McDonald's fans have our go-to meals when we get to the golden arches. Whether it be a Big Mac, Chicken Legend, or a McRib, you know what you're having before you even arrive. If your go-to is chicken nuggets, we have some good news. McDonald's is taking a leaf out of Colonel Sanders' book and shoving a load of chicken into a bucket so we can, in turn, shove it into our faces.
That's probably because the McDonald's boxes your nuggets normally come in aren't strong enough to hold 48 nuggets. That's right, McDonald's is now selling 48 piece McNugget buckets for a limited time only. The deal is being held in conjunction with J-pop group NGT48. The band has 25 members and each bucket will come with a special trading card featuring one of those 25. That means you'll need to eat at least 1200 nuggets to get your hands on the entire set.
Now for the bad news. As you might have guessed, a limited edition deal that celebrates a band only famous in J-pop circles isn't going to be run in the US and the UK. Not only is the deal only limited to Japan, but Joyscribe reports that the 48 nugget deal will only be available in the city of Niigata. For now, the rest of us will just have to buy multiple portions of nuggets and bring a bucket from home.
