New items are coming to the McDonald's breakfast this November and they are bigger than anything that has come before.
When it comes to the unique combination of breakfast and fast food, there was a time when McDonald's pretty much had the market cornered. Whether it was hash browns, coffee, or its famous McMuffins you were after, the chain with the golden arches had you covered, and still does.
In fact, McDonald's breakfast menu was so popular that a couple of years ago, it finally gave in to public pressure, at least in the US. That's right, it started serving some of its breakfast items all day. A no-brainer, right? At least once the company figured out the logistics of preparing and cooking its breakfast foods right alongside the burgers and fries it sells for the rest of the day.
Turns out it wasn't as good an idea as it seemed on the surface. Now that customers can get McMuffins whenever they like, the number of people visiting before lunchtime has dropped. That's a bad thing considering that 25% of the sales take place before midday according to USA Today. Rival chains have also upped their game when it comes to breakfast time. McDonald's isn't the kind of company to wain when it comes to competition, though.
That's why, starting November 1, 2018, some brand new items will be hitting the Maccy D's breakfast menu. They're called the Triple Breakfast Stacks and according to CNN, they are the first new breakfast sandwiches to be added to the McDonald's menu for five years. The new sandwiches come in a muffin, biscuit, or griddle, and have been inspired by customers who buy different items from the breakfast menu and combine them.
No longer do you have to choose between bacon or sausage, because the Triple Breakfast Stack has them both. We say no longer, you'll have to for the next few days as the new sandwiches don't land until November 1. McDonald's will be hoping that these massive new additions to its early morning menu will bring those breakfast customers back in their droves.
