Thousands Want Stevie Nicks To Work A Shift At A Fleetwood McDonald's

Stevie Nicks fans have started up a petition to get the Fleetwood Mac lead singer to work a short shift in a certain branch of McDonald's.

We here at TheRecipe like nothing more than a good food-related pun. Well, if you're totally on board with us in that regard, you're going to enjoy the next few hundred words. There is likely many a superstar out there today that spent a summer or two flipping burgers before they made it big. However, how often do you hear of the opposite happening?

Fans in the English town of Fleetwood are campaigning for exactly that. In fact, some Fleetwood natives want this to happen so much that they have started up a petition, and thousands have already signed it. What we are referring to, as you might have guessed by now, is people requesting that Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks work a shift at the Fleetwood branch of McDonald's.

Facebook user Be Reet started the Facebook group campaigning for Nicks to come to Fleetwood McDonald's, and since then it has gained an awful lot of traction. The group suggests that Nicks work the breakfast shift between 8 am and 11 am on September 28, 2019, so the singer would have a long time to make sure she's available.

At the time of typing this, the event has got almost 4000 people who have committed to attending, and a further 21,000 are interested. That would require an awful lot of McMuffins on Nicks' part. While the singer herself hasn't responded, McDonald's supplied NME with a comment. The fast-food giant wrote "We’ve heard some rumors that Stevie Nicks might be keen to visit our own Fleetwood Macs. Next time she’s in the area we’d be delighted to welcome her for some sweet little fries before she goes her own way." We did warn you there would be some terrible puns.

Whether Nicks can find any room in her busy schedule to pay Fleetwood a visit remains to be seen. She does already have a pretty busy 2019 lined up. Nicks will soon become the first woman to ever be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame twice, as a solo artist and as part of Fleetwood Mac. Nicks will also be touring Europe with the band this summer.
