Subway is now giving customers the option to create their sub with the new cheesy garlic bread, but as it stands it will be for a limited time only.
When it comes to the greatest culinary inventions of all time, is there really anything more innovative than the sandwich? We might take it for granted in the present day, but just imagine the first time someone came up with the idea of putting our favorite foods between two pieces of bread.
There is an endless amount of possibilities when it comes to creating a sandwich. The blank bread, no matter what its form, is almost like a blank canvas. Some of us are better sandwich artists than others, and it's probably fair to say that Subway knows sandwiches better than most of us making them at home. The fast-food franchise has truly mastered the art of the sandwich.
Like any artist worth their salt, Subway is never happy and never feels as if it has reached perfection. However, they may have come extremely close with their most recent offering to the sandwich world. The franchise has added cheesy garlic bread to its list of blank canvas options. That's right, not as a tasty side, but as the sub which holds the rest of your ingredients.
Delish reported the news following a press release from Subway. The bread will be covered in a garlic spread, and smothered in two kinds of cheese, parmesan and mozzarella. While for most subs the cheesy garlic bread is considered an added extra, it is now included with two of the restaurant's Italian-themed sandwiches. The Ultimate Meatball Marinara and Ultimate Spicy Italian come with cheesy garlic bread as a standard.
If you like the sound of all the above (and honestly how could you not?) then we have some good news. Subway's cheesy garlic bread is available now, at least in restaurants across the US. We always have some bad news, though. By the end of February, this innovative and delicious idea will be nothing more than a memory. Hopefully, it's popular enough in that time that Subway decides to make it a permanent fixture.
