Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch is back after giving us a two-year sugar hiatus.
It’s not like you need to wait for Christmas to get a cereal product with enough sugar in it to cause both diabetes and obesity practically overnight, but it’s around this time of year that the truly festive flavors come out. We’re talkin’ peppermint flavored marshmallows and gingerbread flavored cookie crunch.
We might have made both of those up. But there is definitely one flavor that exists because General Mills is bringing it back for the 2018 holiday season.
It’s called Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, and as the name implies, it takes the standard formula of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, tosses out the cinnamon, and adds a metric boat-load of vanilla and sugar.
We haven’t been able to get a hold of the cereal to try it ourselves because our editors are far too health conscious here at TheRecipe to allow us to consume something so blatantly laden with refined sugar. Just kidding--they don’t care what we eat. They were just too lazy to get us a box the last time they were out shopping.

Sounds good? Sure does.

We had our first clue that Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch was about to return last October when the box art leaked on the cerealously.net Instagram account. This sent many junk-food cereal nuts into a frenzy that would make you think they already had a mainline of sugar tapped straight into their hearts.
To be fair to them, General Mills did remove the cereal for 2016 and 2017 after introducing it in 2015. Apparently, a grassroots movement of activists managed to stir up enough signatures to convince the company to bring it back for round two.
JunkBanter.com was particularly thankful for the cereal’s return, going as far as finding the absolute perfect product to pair with the sugar cookie-infused breakfast bowl.
Sugar cookie milk plus sugar cookie cereal makes you wonder why people just don’t eat freakin’ sugar cookies for breakfast.
